Our Hiring Process
Our hiring process consists of three steps.
Step 1: Introductory Call
At this stage, one of our team members will give you a call to learn more about you.

At this stage, one of our team members will give you a call to learn more about you.
At a high level, you will be asked to discuss your technical experience, career goals, and personal hobbies. This call is the chance for both parties to get to know each other so you will have the opportunity to ask questions about our work or the company as a whole.
Candidates that impress during this stage are invited to participate in the next step of the interviewing process.
At this stage, we invite you and other potential candidates to participate in an on-site challenge session.
Step 2: On-Site Challenge Session
At this stage, we invite you and other potential candidates to participate in an on-site challenge session. These sessions consist of 4-12 possible candidates and 4-6 Steele Consulting Team members.
During the on-site challenge, you will have the opportunity to get to know more of our team members and will do a series of challenge problems to showcase your skills in the following areas: teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and technical aptitude.
After the challenge session, there will be an evaluation period (usually 1-2 weeks), where our team leaders will evaluate you and your fellow candidates. Applicants who are a good fit for our company’s culture and technical requirements will then receive an offer to join our ever-growing team.

Welcome to the Team! You will begin your employment with six weeks of full-stack training in our SC Start program.
Here you will gain the foundational skills that will prepare you for our portfolio’s vast array of projects. Beyond technical training, you will get to sharpen your soft skills, gain an understanding of our values and mission, and have the opportunity to build camaraderie with fellow new hires and experienced team members alike.
By the end of the training, you will feel like a pro and be ready to join one of our many high-performing teams.

Paid Internships
Every summer, Steele Consulting offers Paid Software Development and Digital Product Design Internships. This begins with a 6-week course that covers full stack development, followed by opportunities to join a team and work with our actual customers for the remainder of summer. These internships are open to all levels of experience (from High School through Graduate School).

Group Health Insurance
Steele Consulting provides health insurance for all full-time employees. With options for PPO, HDHP HSA compatible plans, with options for Dental, Vision, Disability, and more.

Paid Time Off
Full-time employees accrue up to two weeks of vacation per year. This increases to three weeks at your five year anniversary, and 4 weeks at your ten year anniversary. Steele Consulting also has eleven paid holidays per year.

Retirement Matching
Steele Consulting provides a simple IRA plan, and will match your contribution up to 3% of your total gross salary, including benefits and bonuses.

Continued Education
Education and Learning is important to us. Steele Consulting offers a percentage match of approved continued education courses, degree plans, or certifications for all full-time employees.

Sick Time
While sick time is not accrued in the traditional sense, Steele Consulting offers sick time to all employees. We believe in keeping everyone safe and healthy, and encourage people to remain home and recover.

Hybrid Work Environment
You can come to the office a few days per week, the rest of the time you can work from home.
